Gambado runs monthly SEN-only evenings – soft play fun exclusively for children with disabilities. Entry for all children is £6 and the carer/parent goes free.
Dates for 2014 are: Monday 7 July, 4 August, 1 September at 5-6.30pm. Then Monday 6 October, 3 November and 1 December from 6.30-8pm.

Grow & Learn offers young people aged 14-16 years with a learning difficulty, complex needs or disability the opportunity to realise their aspirations to progress towards employability, increase their confidence and develop independence skills.
Grow & Learn, a vegetable growing project, runs on Wednesdays at Burgess Park, and offers the opportunity for students to gain a City & Guilds Level 1 qualification in Work Based horticulture.

The Royal London Society for the Blind (RLSB) Southwark Parent & Toddler Group:
An informal, friendly session for families and their blind and partially sighted children (aged 0-6). Each group is run by specialist staff, including Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVIs) and therapists. Support for your child in developing: knowledge and understanding of the world; communication and social skills; ease of movement and mobility; confidence and creativity.

The RLSB Bridge Social and Peer Group for blind and partially sighted young people in South London will give you the chance to meet new people, get involved in planning the group’s programme and trying out a range of activities.
Heart n Soul is a leading performing arts organisation in Deptford that runs clubs, music sessions and live events for young people with learning disabilities, aged 10-25.
Heart n Soul also run the regular Squidz Club at the Albany, Deptford, as well as training and taking part activities.

The sessions run every 1st Saturday of the month from 10am-12pm at:
Chandlers Hall 15 Lambeth Walk Kennington London, SE11 6DU in the yellow brick, the round-fronted building next to the doctor’s surgery on Lambeth Walk.
The sessions are open to all parents and carers of children with Down’s Syndrome and are run as informal ‘drop-in’ sessions, you can just turn up at any time, have a tea/coffee and stay for as long as you like. Siblings are very welcome and there is a range of toys and activities available for children of all ages.

Southwark’s Play Service offers a free, exclusive session for children with autism or a learning disability and their parent/carers at Peckham Rye Park Adventure Playground on Sundays 11am-2pm (term time only).
Resources for Autism runs play and activity groups:
- Sunday 12.30-4.30pm: 8-14 years at Beormund Community Centre, 177 Abbey Street, SE1 2AN
- Monday 6–8 pm: Evening Youth Club for ages 15– 19 at Spa School, Monnow Road, SE1 5RN
To apply to either group:
One to one support is available. All staff are autism trained and experienced. Resources for Autism also runs a Reach Out home support service and holiday playschemes in Southwark. This is for families with children of any age up to 19.
KIDS Southwark- Southwark residents who help look after a brother or sister with a disability. Meet other siblings, make friends and share experiences. Opportunities to have fun and take part in activities through attending small groups and ongoing regular meetings outside the family home.

There are regular Autism Friendly Screenings at Greenwich Picturehouse, Clapham Picturehouse and Ritzy Picturehouse cinemas.
Tickets for all screenings are £3 per person, including carers. Wheelchair users must book in advance.
There is also an Autism Friendly Kids Club at Stratford Picturehouse in East London, with screenings on the first Saturday of every month.

The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey hosts a 14+ disability youth club ‘Mixables’ on
Fridays from 3.30-5.30pm
The Salmon Youth Centre also runs a befriending scheme Connect 2 for young people who have a disability. Connect 2 matches a volunteer aged 18-30 with a young person aged 14-19 years old with a mild to moderate disability (ie. who have a Statement of SEN but are probably not getting services from Children with Disabilities Team) to meet up once a fortnight and assist them to access leisure and social services.
